True Romances - a musical about love

I have previously created websites for Mark Bunyan's musicals, but this time, it was going to be special.

Before I was introduced to the assignment, they had worked with John Dulieu, who created a comic based on this musical. His drawings tell the story that is sung in the songs - plus he has selected some elements where he tells more of the story than you get with the music.

Mark's story added to John's drawings creates a completely new visualization of the play.

My assignment was to create this visualization and transfer this to a website, and we ended up with True Romances.

To put music and drawings together, I therefore had to create 20 videos where sound and images match - some videos have transitions between several drawings - especially in the second act, some pieces had a series of drawings.

Drawings become part of the music when they are put together in a video and you have the opportunity to experience the entire piece on the website. If you feel like putting the play on stage, I'm sure Mark would be happy to discuss the possibility.
